RunRio Trilogy Leg 2: Nature Valley Run 2010

The second leg of the RunRio Trilogy, Nature Valley Run 2010, was officially launched last April 28 at the Dusit Thani hotel in Makati. My husband and I were fortunate enough to be invited as guests (thanks Kaye and Rio!). It was quite a refreshing change not to attend an event as a blogger, but that’s not what this post is all about

The Nature Valley Run promises to plant One Tree for every Runner who joins the race. I just love causes like this — environmental-friendly! It would be nice to have a tree labeled with my race bib number, visit the plant as it progresses into a tree I don’t know how they’ll go about the tree planting, but hey, it’s the cause that counts. We’ll be running for trees!!!

After an overview on what the race is all about and a short segment about the sponsor’s product, Nature Valley granola bars, the host opened the floor for a short Q & A. It’s pretty obvious that Donna Cruz still hasn’t lost her “showbiz” spark, and answered the questions like a press con pro, while Coach Rio answered technical race questions in a similar manner. When I was a kid, I enjoyed Donna Cruz’s music, but I was too shy to ask for her autograph hehehehe

Can’t wait for this run! I’ll be running 5k this time, and hopefully see some improvement from my 5k time during the Greenfield City Sunset Run.
